How can we help?
From your first account to your first tournament, find the steps for playing, hosting, and managing your account.
Getting started
Create your account
Join with email and password or an available social provider. New accounts start as player accounts.
- Choose Sign up and select email, Google, Discord, Twitch, Epic Games, or Steam.
- Enter the requested details, including your date of birth. Epic Games and Steam signups also ask for an email address because those sign-in flows do not give us one.
- Open the esports.mu verification email when asked. Players under 18 also need approval from a parent or guardian before their account is active.
- After setup, continue to the page you were viewing or explore tournaments.
Sign in and return to your page
Use the method connected to your account. Signing in returns you to the page you came from.
- Open Log in from the header or from an action that asks you to sign in.
- Use your email and password or a provider linked to your account.
- If you started from a tournament or another page, you return there after sign-in.
- If a linked provider is unavailable, use another sign-in method and review Login & security in Settings.
News and community stories
News covers platform and competition articles; stories are short updates from players and Clubs.
- Open News for longer articles and announcements.
- Browse the homepage and public profiles for available stories and community updates.
- Follow players or Clubs you care about and check notifications for relevant account and event activity.
Profiles, friends, and messages
Set up your public player profile, connect with other players, and use Messages for conversations.
- Review profile visibility and your player details in Settings.
- Browse Players and send a friend request from a public profile.
- After a request is accepted, start a direct message. Teams and organizers can also use their own channels and announcements.
- Review notifications in My Hub for account and competition updates.
Playing
Find a tournament
Browse competitions by game and open an event to check its schedule, format, rules, and entry requirements.
- Open Tournaments or a game page.
- Choose an event and read its eligibility, platform, format, registration window, and published rules.
- Check whether it needs a team, a linked game account, or other proof before applying.
Understand tournament formats
An event's format describes how entrants advance and how a winner is decided.
- Open the event page and read its format, schedule, and published rules together.
- A bracket may eliminate entrants after losses; league or Swiss formats use multiple rounds and standings. Battle royale events may use placement and elimination points.
- The organizer's published rules determine the exact scoring, tie breaks, and progression for that event. Ask the platform guide about a named format for a quick explanation.
Join a tournament
Apply from the tournament page and follow the event's entry instructions.
- Sign in and open the tournament you want to join.
- Check the event's eligibility and registration method. Select a team and lineup if the event requires one.
- Submit the registration. Some events require organizer review or external registration.
- Track submitted, accepted, or waitlisted status in My competitions. Complete check-in during the published window if required.
Create or join a team
Teams hold the player rosters used for team competitions.
- Open My teams to create a team or review invitations.
- A captain can invite players and manage the roster.
- Choose the eligible team and lineup when entering a team tournament. Each event may set its own roster rules.
Matches, results, and disputes
Use My matches for your fixtures and the tournament page for approved public results.
- Open My matches for your fixtures and event instructions.
- Follow the organizer's match and reporting rules.
- View the public bracket or leaderboard on the tournament page once results are approved.
- If a result is wrong, use that match's dispute or evidence controls when available.
Follow Clubs and keep up with events
Club pages bring together a host's community, updates, and assigned public tournaments.
- Browse Clubs and open the page for a community you want to follow.
- Use Follow to keep up with that host's tournament announcements.
- Check the Club's tournament and updates tabs for its current public activity. Teams remain separate competition rosters.
Hosting
Become an organizer
A player enables organizer tools before creating a tournament. The same account can still compete.
- While signed in, choose Create tournament.
- Enter your public organizer name and contact email, then accept the organizer responsibilities.
- Submitting the setup gives your account organizer access and opens game selection. You become an organizer even if you do not finish a tournament.
- The Starter sandbox package is enabled for initial hosting. Its limits apply when creating tournaments.
Create and manage tournaments
Organizers create events in Operations and manage registration, matches, and results there.
- Complete organizer setup if this is your first tournament.
- In Operations, choose a game and complete the event details, schedule, eligibility, capacity, and rules.
- Optionally assign a Club you own or administer; a Club is not required to host.
- Review publishing readiness before making the event public, then manage applications, competition stages, and results in My tournaments.
Create a Club and show its tournaments
A Club is an optional public home for a community or organizer. It can group multiple assigned tournaments.
- Enable organizer access first. Player accounts cannot create Clubs directly.
- Create your Club from the organizer workspace and add its name, description, and branding.
- When creating or editing a tournament, assign the Club you own or administer.
- The Club page shows public tournaments assigned to it. Your unassigned tournaments do not appear there, and creating a Club does not move existing tournaments automatically.
Account & safety
Connect game and sign-in accounts
Linked providers can support sign-in and help verify game identities for eligible events.
- Open Settings and connect providers under the relevant account section.
- Use Login & security to review available sign-in methods; use Game accounts for competition identities.
- Steam and Epic connections are private competition identities. A verified connection can also be used for sign-in.
- If an existing esports.mu account uses your email, sign in to it first and connect the provider in Settings; provider login will not silently merge accounts.
Email verification and sign-in help
Verification links expire. You can request a new one and retry sign-in.
- Open the verification email and follow its link within 48 hours.
- If the link has expired or was used, enter your email on the verification screen to request another link.
- Check spam if the email does not arrive. If a social provider fails, try another connected method and review your account settings.
- For a minor account, email verification and guardian approval are separate steps.
Privacy, safety, and account controls
Choose what appears publicly and use the platform's reporting and policy controls.
- Review profile visibility and account preferences in Settings.
- Report an abusive message from its message menu; the sender is not notified about your report.
- Read the Competition Rules before joining or hosting events, and review the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for account and data details.
Need help with a specific event?
Open its tournament page for the organizer’s published rules and registration details. The platform guide in the lower corner can also answer questions about the page you’re viewing.
